Harvey and Son Builders Ltd are committed to a health and safety management system that complies with, but strives to exceed, the standard legal requirements of the HSWA etc 1974 and all supporting subordinate legislation. The company will promote the health and safety message, and control all known risk associated with the company’s undertakings to ensure, so far as is reasonably practical, the health and safety and welfare of their employees, customers and any persons who may be affected by those undertakings. Equal consideration will also be made to any environmental impact that the company’s undertakings or operations may have. As a minimum the company will provide facilities, tools and equipment that comply with relevant legislative requirements, where and when reasonably practicable, these requirements will be exceeded. The company will make arrangements for the provision of information, instruction, training and supervision as required to maintain a good level of health, safety and welfare for all of its employees. Arrangements will be made for the monitoring of employees exposed to biological, chemical or physical agents to be controlled and kept below any workplace exposure limits. Employees visiting or working at customers premises as a direct requirement of a service contract will conform to the requirements of this policy and will also observe the health and safety directives of the customer whilst on their premises. All employees will be informed of the contents of the health and safety policy and made aware of any changes that legislation or business activities dictate. All accidents and incidents (near misses) will be recorded in the company accident or incident books and investigated with a view to preventing a reoccurrence. The level of investigation will be appropriate to the seriousness of the accident or incident with required action being taken for any that are reportable. Through continued professional development the company will endeavour to keep up to date with any relevant legislative changes. To underpin the above statements the management of S. Harvey and Son builders Ltd. Recognise that Health and Safety and Environmental issues are a management responsibility warranting equal importance to any commercial considerations that the company undertakes. 3.Environmental Policy Statement “a sustainable future for a future generation” This statement confirms the company’s commitment to continuous improvement in managing environmental issues. The directors are firmly of the belief that, by working together, we can all make a difference. Resource efficiency is a good for the environment and makes sound business sense. Our aims are:- To be an environmentally compatible company with minimum impact on the eco system and natural environment on which we work. Our objectives are:- Compliance with all present and future legislations Reduction of waste Promotion of the “ green message” Consideration of environmental issues as a high priority status on every assessment carried out by the company. Conservation of natural recourses, archived by a proactive approach to the environment issues during the planning and implementation of all company undertakings Regular review of our environmental performance both as a company and as individuals.
